Uzbekistan Proposes Joint Industrial Cooperation Program to EAEU

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has proposed that the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) draft a joint industrial cooperation program based on agreements reached at the "Innoprom. Central Asia" international exhibition.

Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov put forward the initiative during a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Cholpon-Ata, TASS reported.

According to the Uzbek head of government, the program should serve as a practical mechanism to elevate industrial cooperation between Uzbekistan and EAEU countries to a new level.

The Uzbek side suggested including in the document a list of prospective joint projects, manufacturing sites, potential partners, and specific financing sources.

Furthermore, Uzbekistan expressed readiness to open an industrial cooperation office within the country to liaise directly with the Eurasian Economic Commission.

Abdulla Aripov noted that this initiative represents one of the practical steps to implement proposals for expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EAEU, which were outlined by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Kazakhstan in May.

The meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council is taking place on 6–7 August in Cholpon-Ata.

Participants include Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin, Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, as well as representatives from Iran and Cuba.
