An earthquake was felt in the territory of Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Seismic tremors were recorded in Uzbekistan on the evening of 20 May, according to the Seismic Forecasting and Monitoring Center under the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
According to the agency, the earthquake occurred at 20:07 local time. The epicenter was located in the territory of Kyrgyzstan. The magnitude registered was 3.4, with the focus at a depth of 10 kilometers. In the area around the epicenter, the strength of the underground shocks reached 4 points on the seismic scale.
The epicenter was situated 283 kilometers southeast of Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent.
Tremors were felt within the country, notably in the Pakhtaabad district of the Andijan region, where their intensity was measured at 2 points. This district is located 29 kilometers from the epicenter.
