Air Pollution Detected from Novo-Angren Thermal Power Plant in Tashkent Region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Air pollution originating from the Novo-Angren Thermal Power Plant has been detected in Tashkent region, according to the regional Department of Ecology.

It was found that during the plant’s operation, pollutants are being released into the atmosphere, and the existing dust and gas cleaning equipment does not provide adequate air purification.

Specialists have calculated compensation for the damage caused and issued directives to eliminate the identified violations, although the exact amount of compensation was not specified.

A corresponding “roadmap” has been developed to prevent further emissions and reduce their negative impact on public health.
