AGMK to purchase new equipment for gold mine

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Almalyk Mining and Metallurgy Combine (AGMK) announced a tender on purchase of equipment for construction of mine on gold production in Tashkent region with starting price of US$22.6 million, newspaper Noviy Vek reported.

The tender was announced on 11 lots, which includes mining equipment, electrotechnical and compressor equipment. The tender proposals are received till 2 May and the results will be announced in June.

The project with the cost of US$74 million envisages construction of underground mine at Samarchuk area of Kyzylalma field. The capacity of new mine will be 200,000 tonnes of ore a year. The project will be implemented within two years.

It is financed due to own resources of AGMK for US$35 million, loan of Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan for US$14.2 million and commercial banks – US$24.8 million.
