Power outage hits Tashkent's Uchtepa district due to substation malfunction

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A temporary power outage occurred in the Uchtepa district of Tashkent in the evening following an emergency incident at the "Karvon" substation.

According to energy utility services, at 20:52, a relay protection system was triggered at the 110/10 kV Karvon substation. The automated shutdown was caused by a technical malfunction in the input circuit breaker of the second 10 kV bus section.

As a result of the emergency shutdown, a number of consumers in the capital's Uchtepa district were temporarily left without electricity supply.

A specialized emergency repair crew was immediately deployed to the site to conduct diagnostic testing and rectify the underlying equipment failure. Concurrently, operational measures were taken to restore electricity to the affected consumers by rerouting power through backup supply circuits.

Energy grid officials extended their apologies to consumers for the temporary inconvenience and assured that recovery operations were being executed with maximum urgency to fully stabilize the local grid.
