Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Uztextileprom Association said that Uzbekistan’s current legislation does not require textile companies to obtain the association’s approval for exporting products or setting export prices, according to an official statement by the organization.
Uztextileprom noted that the association was established under Presidential Decree No. UP-5285 dated 14 December 2017.
Its responsibilities include supporting textile enterprises, promoting the introduction of modern technologies and marketing tools, and promoting the export potential of domestic producers in foreign markets.
At the same time, the statement emphasized that legislation contains no provision requiring textile companies to obtain separate permission or approval from Uztextileprom to engage in export activities. Mandatory approval of export prices by the association is also not предусмотрено.
Under Uzbek legislation, business entities independently conduct foreign economic activities. The terms of cooperation with foreign brands, product prices and technical requirements are determined by the parties under commercial agreements between exporters and foreign buyers.
The association said it supports manufacturers entering foreign markets through international exhibitions, B2B meetings, export training programmes, joint projects with foreign organizations and trade missions.
In this regard, Uztextileprom said claims circulating on social media about the need to obtain approval for export activities do not correspond to the association’s established powers.
The organization also said it is continuously working to prevent and combat corruption, ensure transparency and uphold the principles of legality.
Uztextileprom called on those sharing information about its activities to use official and reliable sources, verify information and observe the principles of objectivity.
