UZSE and ADB discuss the development of the capital market in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- On 5 March 2024, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Stock Exchange (UZSE) Georgy Paresishvili met with representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

New ADB projects planned for the period from 2025 to 2027 and their potential impact on the development of the financial market of Uzbekistan were discussed.

Paresishvili presented in detail the current state of the capital market, highlighting the work done to improve infrastructure and attract investors.

A “Road Map” for the development of the capital market for 2023-2025 was presented.

This allowed ADB representatives to better understand the strategic directions and challenges of the Uzbek capital market.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for further cooperation.

ADB Financial Sector Director Mohd Sani Ismail noted that some issues related to the development of the capital market in Uzbekistan can be included in the ADB program for 2025-2027 and become an incentive for the development of the financial market in the country.
