Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A ceremonial send-off for Uzbekistan's sports delegations to the 20th Summer Asian Games and the 5th Asian Para Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026 was held in Tashkent.

The event took place at the Museum of Olympic and Paralympic Glory, the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan reported.

The ceremony was attended by Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, representatives of the Ministry of Sports, the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees, athletes and coaches, sports veterans and members of the sporting community.

Addressing the participants, Abdulla Aripov wished Uzbek athletes success and good luck in the upcoming competitions.

The athletes and coaches, in turn, said they were ready to make every effort to live up to the trust placed in them, represent Uzbekistan with distinction and return home with strong results.

During the ceremony, Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion and Paris 2024 Olympic bronze medalist in weightlifting Akbar Djuraev accepted the State Flag of Uzbekistan on behalf of representatives of Olympic sports.

On behalf of Paralympic sports, the State Flag was accepted by para-cycling world champion Marjona Pardaboeva.
