Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The total outstanding balance of loans issued to individuals and legal entities in Uzbekistan reached 644.6 trillion soums as of 1 August 2026, up 6.7% since the beginning of the year, according to data on outstanding loans by category.
Loans to individuals
The outstanding balance of loans to individuals reached 239.8 trillion soums as of 1 August, an 8.9% increase since the start of the year.
This was the fastest-growing segment among the major categories of the credit portfolio.
Mortgage loans accounted for the largest share of the retail portfolio, with their outstanding balance rising 11% to 88.1 trillion soums. Microloan balances increased 4.7% to 51.1 trillion soums, while the balance of microcredits rose 15.5% to 46.7 trillion soums. Outstanding auto loans increased 2% to 40.5 trillion soums.
Education loans were the only retail credit category to decline, with the outstanding balance falling 1.3% to 6.8 trillion soums. Consumer loans increased 3.3% to 508 billion soums.
Other loans, including credit cards and overdrafts, recorded the largest increase among all individual loan categories. Their outstanding balance rose 33.5% to 5.9 trillion soums.
Loans to legal entities
The outstanding balance of loans issued to legal entities reached 404.8 trillion soums as of 1 August, up 5.5% from the beginning of the year.
The bulk of this segment consists of loans to legal entities that are not credit institutions. Their outstanding balance increased 4.9% to 377.5 trillion soums.
Interbank loans recorded the fastest growth among corporate lending categories, with their outstanding balance rising 58.2% to 1 trillion soums, although this category remains relatively small in absolute terms.
Leasing and factoring balances increased 27.5% to 4.9 trillion soums, while microcredits to legal entities rose 22.1% to 17.9 trillion soums.
Syndicated loans were the only category to record a significant decline, with the outstanding balance falling 26.1% to 3.5 trillion soums.
