Uzbekistan to simplify construction after land purchases

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan will be able to start construction immediately after purchasing a land plot at auction, without waiting six to 12 months for permits and other documents, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said on 18 August during an open dialogue with entrepreneurs in Khorezm region.

Under the new rules, land plots will be offered for auction with a complete package of documents already prepared. This will include an architectural and planning assignment, a project and a construction permit.

As a result, entrepreneurs will no longer have to undergo lengthy procedures separately to obtain the documents required before starting construction after purchasing a land plot.

The government also plans to reduce the financial burden on developers. The advance payment for the infrastructure fee will be cut from 20% to 5%.

The proposed changes are aimed at reducing bureaucratic procedures and accelerating the transition from purchasing a land plot to implementing a construction project.
