Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan is expanding the digitalization of pension services. From 2027, the Pension Fund will stop accepting documents and information from citizens in paper form, while some pension payments will be assigned without applications.

From 1 January 2027, the Pension Fund will stop accepting documents and information from citizens in paper form.

At the same time, from 1 November 2026, early pensions for persons recognized as unemployed will be assigned proactively, meaning citizens will not need to submit an application. From 1 January 2027, the same mechanism will also apply to survivor’s pensions.

From the beginning of 2027, citizens will also be able to receive information about their pension in advance through the “My Pension” online service.

Other pension services are also planned to be provided electronically in the future. In particular, citizens will be able to apply for preferential pensions, switch pension payments to cash collection, restore suspended payments, obtain information on deductions from pensions and voluntarily paid social tax.

It will also be possible to register pension documents at a new address online when changing one’s place of residence.

Separate changes will concern the recording of employment history for citizens working under civil-law contracts.

From 1 October 2026, when social tax is paid at the established rate, such citizens will automatically receive one year of employment history credit.

If the total amount of social tax paid during a year for activities under civil-law contracts is no less than the established social tax amount for self-employed persons, one year of employment history will be credited automatically. No additional social tax payment will be required for this.

Another option will be available from 1 January 2027 to citizens with official income. They will be able to voluntarily pay social tax for an unemployed family member so that the person can also have employment history credited in the future.

For this purpose, it will be necessary to pay social tax each month at a rate of 12% of the minimum wage.

Citizens will be able to track information on amounts paid and accumulated employment history through a mobile application or personal account.

Thus, the new measures provide for a transition from paper-based document management to electronic interaction, broader proactive assignment of certain types of pensions and the ability to access information about pension rights remotely.
