Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from Uzbekistan led by Tax Committee Chairman Farrukh Pulatov is participating in the 18th plenary meeting of the OECD/G20 Inclusive Framework on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS), held in Paris from 28 to 30 October 2026.
The discussions focus on countering base erosion and profit shifting, implementing the global minimum tax, improving international tax information exchange, and developing new approaches to taxing the digital economy and applying artificial intelligence in tax administration.
Uzbekistan’s participation reflects the country’s efforts to strengthen international tax cooperation, improve transparency and gradually implement international standards and best practices.
Cooperation with the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) enables Uzbekistan to study international experience, improve national legislation and strengthen the professional capacity of its tax authorities.
Uzbekistan has expanded its engagement with international tax institutions in recent years. The country joined the Inclusive Framework on BEPS in 2023 and has been working to implement its minimum standards.
The authorities are also improving transfer pricing rules and mechanisms for resolving tax disputes.
In July 2026, Uzbekistan signed the Multilateral Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters. The agreement is intended to expand international cooperation, including the exchange of tax information.
Further alignment with international standards is expected to help protect Uzbekistan’s tax base, combat tax evasion more effectively, ensure a level playing field for businesses and strengthen international investor confidence.
It is also intended to enable Uzbekistan to participate more actively in shaping the international tax agenda and take national interests into account when global solutions are developed.
Participation in the BEPS plenary meeting marks another step in Uzbekistan’s integration into the international tax cooperation system and its efforts to modernise national tax administration in line with international practices.
