Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Uzbekistan Stock Exchange has completed major REPO transactions involving corporate bonds issued by JSC KRIU, with a total value of 65.5 billion soums.

According to the exchange, the transactions are intended to improve liquidity in the bond market, increase the circulation of financial resources, and expand short-term financing opportunities for market participants.

The transactions form part of measures outlined in the Presidential Decree "On Additional Measures for the Further Development of the Housing and Mortgage Market" (No. UP-26) dated 21 February 2025. The decree provides for the issuance of mortgage bonds through the stock exchange and their trading on the secondary market.

The REPO transactions involving JSC KRIU bonds were executed on 6 July this year, with a total value of 65.5 billion soums.

The exchange said the transactions reflect growing investor interest in JSC KRIU bonds and demonstrate the effectiveness of the Uzbekistan Stock Exchange's trading infrastructure in facilitating REPO operations.

The exchange added that it will continue developing modern financial instruments, improving liquidity in the corporate and mortgage bond markets, and expanding opportunities for participants in Uzbekistan's capital market.
