Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has amended its rules for outdoor advertising, easing requirements for businesses. The changes are set out in Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 563, dated 13 October 2026.
One of the main changes concerns business signs. Information displaying a company name, trademark and type of activity, placed by a business on the exterior of a building or structure it uses or near its entrance, is no longer classified as outdoor advertising. Such signs do not require an outdoor advertising permit document.
The resolution defines advertising as specific information intended to attract attention to an advertised object, generate or maintain interest in it, and promote it in the market to obtain direct or indirect profit.
The rules for advertising on vehicles owned by legal entities have also been simplified. Companies may advertise their trademarks, activities, products and services by submitting an electronic notification through the Unified Portal of Interactive Public Services, my.gov.uz.
The resolution also sets time limits for temporary advertising. Advertising at construction sites is permitted until construction is completed, while materials promoting holidays and events may remain on advertising structures for no more than 30 days.
Changes to the design code
The new procedure provides for public discussion of amendments to the design code. The changes will take effect three months after their official publication. The Tashkent design code is scheduled for discussion by 10 December, with businesses and media representatives invited to participate.
New requirements for dismantling advertising structures
The rules for the forced dismantling of outdoor advertising structures have been clarified. The date and time of the work must be announced at least two days in advance, and the structure’s owner must receive written notification of the planned dismantling.
The work may be carried out only on working days, between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Once completed, a corresponding report must be drawn up with the participation of the advertising owner.
In addition, public oversight of outdoor advertising placement will be conducted through the Halk Nazorati (People’s Control) electronic portal.
