Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Uzbekistan ranked 88th in the Logistics Performance Index (LPI). The index was prepared by the World Bank.

Logistics Performance Index - LPI is published by the World Bank every two years. The choice of this index is due to the fact that attention to it stimulates the improvement of the functioning of domestic and international logistics, which is a prerequisite for increasing national competitiveness.

The report measures competitiveness using 6 components that determine the Logistics Performance Index. 160 countries are ranked and the score varies between 1 and 5. The index is based on a survey. Each respondent evaluates eight foreign markets on six main components of logistics performance:

- efficiency of customs and border clearance;

- quality of trade and transport infrastructure;

- ease of organizing international transportation at competitive prices;

- quality and competence of logistics services;

- tracking the passage of goods;

- timely delivery of goods.

It should be noted that in 2018 Uzbekistan ranked 99th in the Logistics Performance Index. That is, Uzbekistan improved its performance by 11 positions compared to the previous report of 2018.

Uzbekistan in the new index scored 2.6 points (out of 5). In 2018, the indicator of Uzbekistan was 2.58 points.

According to this report, the efficiency of customs and border clearance was 2.6 points (140th), the Quality of trade and transport infrastructure - 2.4 points (89th), the ease of organizing international transportation at competitive prices - 2.6 points (91st place), Quality and competence of logistics services - 2.6 points (92nd place), Tracking the passage of goods - 2.4 points (105th place), Timeliness of cargo deliveries - 2.8 points (101- e place).
