Uzbekistan Mortgage Subsidies Reach 1.14 Trillion Soums
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Mortgage loan subsidies in Uzbekistan reached over 1.141 trillion soums in 2026, disbursed to 12,355 citizens nationwide, according to the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Out of the total allocation, 367 billion soums went toward covering full or partial down payments, while 774.1 billion soums was allocated to compensate interest payments on mortgage loans issued in previous years.
The Andijan region recorded the highest volume of down payment subsidies, with 1,472 recipients receiving 43.8 billion soums. The Ferghana region followed with 1,410 recipients allocated 41.9 billion soums, while the Namangan region accounted for 1,406 citizens receiving 41.6 billion soums.
Other regions reporting high distribution figures include Kashkadarya (1,260 people, 37.5 billion soums), Surkhandarya (1,184 people, 35.4 billion soums), and Samarkand (1,030 people, 30.4 billion soums). The lowest subsidy amounts were recorded in the Syrdarya region, with 410 recipients receiving 12.2 billion soums, and the city of Tashkent, where 389 individuals received 11.6 billion soums.
Among commercial financial institutions, Agrobank emerged as the primary lender for subsidized mortgage distribution, servicing 3,779 borrowers for a total of 112.3 billion soums. This figure includes 151 borrowers who received 6.12 billion soums in targeted mortgage loans.
Ipoteka-bank ranked second with 1,538 borrowers allocated 45.4 billion soums, followed by Xalq Bank with 1,371 borrowers receiving 40.8 billion soums. Business Development Bank provided 39.2 billion soums to 1,326 borrowers, and Uzpromstroybank issued 34.8 billion soums across 1,164 borrowers. The lowest lending volumes were recorded at Asaka Bank (107 borrowers, 3.2 billion soums), Orient Finans Bank (42 borrowers, 1.2 billion soums), and InFinBank (2 borrowers, 0.1 billion soums).
The subsidy program covers both initial down payment support and interest payment offsets for previously issued mortgage loans, ministry data showed.
