Uzbekistan Fruit and Vegetable Exports Pass US$1 Billion

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan exported 1.2839 million tonnes of fruit and vegetable products valued at US$1.0254 billion during the first seven months of 2026, according to the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Physical export volume grew by 0.4 percent compared to the same period in 2025, when the country shipped 1.2785 million tonnes. Revenue, however, declined by 3.9 percent from US$1.0666 billion recorded in January–July 2025. Fruit and vegetable exports accounted for 5.1 percent of Uzbekistan's total export volume during the period.

Fruit exports contracted in physical terms from 290,800 tonnes to 251,000 tonnes, while overall fruit revenue experienced a slight decrease from US$330.8 million to US$308.0 million. Within the fruit segment, peach exports rose from 87,900 tonnes to 92,300 tonnes, generating US$91.7 million compared to US$80.5 million previously. Dried grape shipments declined from 54,600 tonnes to 51,600 tonnes.

Sweet cherry exports fell from 34,300 tonnes to 25,200 tonnes, apricot shipments dropped from 61,000 tonnes to 26,400 tonnes, and fresh grape export volumes shifted from 29,500 tonnes to 37,800 tonnes. Revenue from grape exports increased from US$24.9 million to US$28.9 million. Dried prune exports dropped in volume from 23,500 tonnes to 17,700 tonnes while maintaining revenue at US$33.0 million.

Vegetable exports expanded from 484,200 tonnes to 539,600 tonnes, with earnings rising from US$165.9 million to US$200.5 million. Onion shipments were the primary contributor, increasing from 284,000 tonnes to 304,100 tonnes as revenue grew from US$79.7 million to US$89.3 million. Cabbage exports rose from 126,900 tonnes to 139,400 tonnes, tomato exports grew from 30,800 tonnes to 33,000 tonnes, carrot exports increased from 39,200 tonnes to 57,500 tonnes, and garlic exports expanded from 3,400 tonnes to 5,600 tonnes.

Among other agricultural categories, combined melon and watermelon exports decreased slightly from 175,700 tonnes to 173,900 tonnes, though revenue increased from US$41.9 million to US$55.1 million. Peanut and nut exports shifted from 13,100 tonnes to 13,300 tonnes as earnings moved from US$31.2 million to US$30.3 million. Mung bean exports increased from 33,600 tonnes to 35,700 tonnes, with revenue rising from US$32.1 million to US$33.9 million.
