Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan is expanding opportunities to study artificial intelligence technologies and acquire modern digital skills. The issue was discussed at the Digital Education Forum 2026: Threats of AI on Education and Employment, held as part of ICT WEEK Uzbekistan 2026.
Umida Odilova, head of AI and R&D at IT Park Uzbekistan, took part in the event and presented “Join the AI Game.” The presentation covered existing educational programs and new opportunities to study artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud technologies and data-related skills.
Under the “5 Million AI Leaders” program, 1.3 million people have already registered for free online courses in AI, machine learning, cloud and data.
Artificial intelligence laboratories are also being developed at universities across the country. Under the “Al-Khwarizmi Successors” program, 8,000 students have completed or are continuing training in AI and programming.
Cooperation with international technology partners is also expanding. AWS Academy programs have been launched at more than 10 universities in Uzbekistan and are designed to train more than 2,000 students annually in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud technologies, data analysis and cybersecurity.
Samsung Innovation Campus provides practical training in artificial intelligence, Big Data, the Internet of Things and programming.
With support from the World Bank, 400 people completed the first stage of free training under the Digital Inclusion project.
A new intake for 600 participants is now being launched. In Tashkent, participants will study AI and machine learning; in Ferghana, game development; in Namangan, 2D/3D modeling; and in Samarkand, cloud engineering.
The initiatives presented at the forum are aimed at further expanding access to artificial intelligence education and equipping young people and professionals with skills in demand in the global technology market.
