Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Embassy of Uzbekistan arranged the repatriation of the bodies of two Uzbek citizens who died in Poland in August and September 2026, Dunyo reports.
In the first case, citizen J.Kh. died on 24 August in Olsztyn after falling from a height and sustaining a severe traumatic brain injury.
His body was transported to Uzbekistan on 5 September.
Citizen T.E. died on 5 September in Szczecin. According to official information, the cause of death was tetanus.
His body was transported to Tashkent on 20 September.
In both cases, the costs of transporting the bodies from Poland to Uzbekistan were covered by the Migration Fund, established on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan.
The embassy coordinated the repatriation process at every stage in cooperation with Polish government authorities.
This enabled the families of the deceased to avoid additional organisational and financial expenses during a difficult period.
