Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Azim Ahmedkhadjayev, Director of the Atomic Energy Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, attended the International Youth Nuclear Forum "Obninsk NEW." Held in Obninsk, Russia, the event brought together more than 500 young specialists, students, and nuclear industry representatives from 70 countries worldwide.
The forum coincided with the 72nd anniversary of the launch of the world's first nuclear power plant, which began its operations in Obninsk on June 26, 1954. The event served as an international platform for exchanging experience, discussing development prospects for nuclear energy, and strengthening cooperation among young leaders and industry specialists.
Official delegations from ten states, alongside representatives of international organizations, the scientific community, educational institutions, and nuclear industry enterprises, took part in the forum. Thousands of additional students joined the forum's events online through a network of partner platforms.
The central theme of the forum focused on the role of youth in developing high-tech industries and shaping the future of global nuclear energy. The program featured discussions on international youth cooperation, training the next generation of engineering personnel, advancing scientific research, and implementing innovative technologies.

Participants discussed the significance of international partnerships for the sustainable development of the nuclear industry, the training of qualified specialists, and the implementation of advanced technological solutions.
Special emphasis was placed on expanding the applications of nuclear technologies. During thematic panel discussions, experts reviewed development prospects for nuclear medicine, quantum technologies, and modern nuclear education, alongside their contributions toward improving the population's quality of life and achieving sustainable development goals.
The forum venues also hosted meetings between youth representatives and heads of relevant agencies and organizations from various countries.
Among the participants were representatives from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, China, Rwanda, Hungary, Vietnam, and South Africa, as well as leaders of international scientific and industry organizations, including the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
A special session within the forum framework was dedicated to developing the Youth Declaration for Nuclear Cooperation.
