Uzbekistan, China Expand Cooperation in Livestock and Seeds

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and China plan to expand cooperation in agriculture, including livestock breeding, seed production and the introduction of modern agricultural technologies.

The prospects were discussed at a meeting between Uzbekistan Deputy Minister of Agriculture Jamshid Abduzukhurov and a delegation from Bayannur, a city in China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The sides discussed expanding bilateral cooperation, implementing mutually beneficial projects and introducing modern technologies into the agricultural sector.

Particular attention was paid to livestock development. The participants considered the use of modern breeding and selection methods, increasing livestock productivity and opportunities to apply advanced international experience.

The development of the seed production system was another area of discussion. The sides considered the development of high-yield varieties adapted to local conditions, production of quality seed material and the introduction of modern technologies in this field.

The participants also discussed bringing scientific and innovative developments into agricultural practice. In particular, the talks covered the use of digital technologies and the integration of modern research findings into production processes.

Following the meeting, priority areas for further scientific and technological cooperation in livestock breeding and seed production were identified.

These include the exchange of advanced experience, the introduction of innovative solutions and the implementation of joint projects.
