Uzbekistan and Qatar discuss strategic partnership

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to Uzbekistan, Hassan bin Hamza Hashim, on 17 July 2026.

During the talks, the sides discussed the further strengthening of the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Qatar, as well as the consistent implementation of agreements reached during high-level contacts.

The interlocutors exchanged views on prospects for expanding cooperation in trade, economic, investment, transport, logistics, energy, tourism, cultural, and humanitarian fields.

Additionally, the meeting participants reviewed the schedule of upcoming bilateral events and current issues regarding interaction within international organizations.

The Ambassador of Qatar also conveyed the appreciation of the Qatari side for the recent visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Doha following the passing of the former Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, and for the condolences he expressed personally.
