Uzbek Lawmakers Pass Administrative Code Amendments on Water Management
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis reviewed and adopted in the second reading the draft law "On Amending and Supplementing the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Liability," which was introduced by a group of deputies as a legislative initiative.
The bill provides for amendments to a number of articles of the Code on Administrative Liability aimed at improving legal regulations in the area of using water resources and water management facilities.
In particular, the document proposes to establish administrative liability directly for individuals responsible for violating the rules of keeping state records of water resources, as well as for non-compliance with the requirements for the operation of water management objects and hydraulic structures.
In addition, the bill provides for stricter liability for offenses committed by officials, alongside an increase in the size of fines for repeated administrative offenses.
The amendments also improve administrative liability measures for violating the rules for using sewerage networks.
Following the review, the deputies adopted the draft law in the second reading.
