Uzbek Foreign Minister Meets Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held a meeting with Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore Lawrence Wong during his official visit.
At the beginning of the conversation, the head of the Uzbek foreign ministry conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the head of the Singaporean government.
During the negotiations, the sides noted the deep commonality of the strategic goals of both countries. It was emphasized that Uzbekistan and Singapore demonstrate unified approaches in matters of accelerated economic development, building an effective public administration system, introducing innovations, and consistently investing in human capital.
Bakhtiyor Saidov specifically noted that Singapore's globally recognized development model and unique experience in forming sustainable state institutions are largely in line with the large-scale structural reforms currently being actively implemented in Uzbekistan.
The sides substantively exchanged views on key vectors for expanding practical cooperation. The focus of their attention included areas such as the modernization of the education system, digital transformation, the financial sector, the promotion of innovation, and the introduction of modern public management standards.
Following the meeting, the sides expressed firm confidence that the talks held would serve as a solid foundation for further strengthening bilateral relations and filling them with qualitatively new practical substance.
