Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Companies accredited with the Uzbekistan Republican Commodity Exchange (UzRTSB) can now participate in trading on the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUTB) without making a security deposit.

The decision was made by the BUTB board as part of a roadmap for developing trade, economic, social and humanitarian cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan for 2026–2030, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange said.

Previously, new BUTB clients were required to make a security deposit to guarantee the fulfillment of obligations under exchange transactions and the exchange services agreement. The requirement no longer applies to companies accredited with UzRTSB.

A special information section has also been created on the UzRTSB website for Uzbek entrepreneurs. It provides information on export and import commodities offered on BUTB, trading session schedules, daily quotations, and registers of buy and sell orders.

A similar section containing information about UzRTSB has been placed on the BUTB website.

The expansion of cooperation between the two exchanges is based on a strategic partnership agreement signed by BUTB and UzRTSB in February 2026. The agreement provides for reciprocal access for Belarusian and Uzbek companies to the two countries’ exchange markets, information sharing and the implementation of joint projects.

BUTB Board Chairman Alexander Osmolovsky called the decision a new stage in cooperation between the two countries in the exchange sector. He said deeper cooperation should help expand the pool of trading participants, increase liquidity and create conditions for higher mutual trade turnover.

UzRTSB Board Chairman Asadulla Kayumov said the removal of the security deposit requirement reduces the financial burden on participants and makes it easier for businesses to enter the commodity exchange markets of the two countries.

Uzbekistan currently ranks third among all countries represented on BUTB by exchange commodity turnover. In January–September 2026, the value of transactions involving Uzbek companies increased by 29% compared with the same period in 2025.

A total of 307 Uzbek companies are accredited to trade on BUTB, 55 more than at the beginning of 2026. Two of them have the status of exchange brokers.
