Two Uzbekistan Projects Shortlisted for Zero Project Awards
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Two projects developed by the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of Uzbekistan have been shortlisted for the international Zero Project Awards 2027, an initiative dedicated to protecting rights and fostering inclusion for people with disabilities, according to the press service of the National Agency for Social Protection.
A total of 615 projects from 94 countries were submitted for the award this year, with international experts selecting the agency's two initiatives to advance to the next selection stage.
The first initiative, titled "A Step Toward an Active Life," establishes a national system for delivering social services via vouchers.
The second initiative, the "Smart Voucher Ecosystem," is an innovative voucher system designed to supply people with disabilities with prosthetic-orthotic products and technical rehabilitation aids.
The agency noted that inclusion in the shortlist serves as international recognition of Uzbekistan's ongoing efforts to build an inclusive environment and expand opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
In the next phase, the nominated projects will undergo additional expert voting, with the winners of the Zero Project Awards 2027 scheduled to be announced on 3 December 2026.
The shortlisted projects have also been invited to present at the Zero Project Conference 2027, which will take place in Vienna from 10 to 12 February 2027.
