Turkmen leader orders to end gas pipeline construction to China by late 2009

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow has assigned the government "to take all measures to complete the construction of the Turkmenistan-China major transnational gas pipeline by the end of 2009".

The instruction was given at a government session on 6 April, which summed up the results of the first quarter of 2009, the presidential press service reports.

The length of the Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan-China pipeline will be about 7,000 km.
