Uzbekistan to Attract US$6 Billion for AI by 2030

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan has signed agreements to attract more than US$6 billion in private investment in artificial intelligence by 2030. The projects are expected to create computing infrastructure with a total capacity of 800 MW, First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Oleg Pekos said in an interview with Uzbekistan 24.

According to Pekos, a significant share of the investment will be directed toward developing artificial intelligence infrastructure. Computing capacity is planned to be developed in stages across different regions of the country.

The current utilization rate of Uzbekistan’s existing computing infrastructure is approaching 90%. Additional capacity is scheduled to be launched in November, with another infrastructure facility planned by the end of 2026.

Pekos also said government agencies must ensure that their IT infrastructure can meet growing demand for computing capacity.

At the same time, Uzbekistan’s AI export sector is expanding. In 2024, 24 exporting companies were among the residents of IT Park, a technology park based in Tashkent. That number has now reached 160.

According to the First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies, Uzbekistan’s AI products are already being exported to 80 countries.
