The State Duma and the Legislative Chamber sign agreement on the establishment of an mechanism for inter-parliamentary cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The State Duma of Russia and the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan signed an agreement on inter-chamber parliamentary cooperation on 16 September, which will contribute to "strengthening relations between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Uzbekistan in various fields of mutual interest".
Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin and Chairman of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nurdinjon Ismoilov in Tashkent signed an Agreement on cooperation between the State Duma and the Legislative Chamber.
“The parties contribute to the establishment of permanent relations between committees and commissions, deputy groups, apparatuses of the parties, exchange delegations in order to study the practice of development and adoption of legislative acts, the experience of parliamentary activities,” the Agreement says.
Vyacheslav Volodin emphasized: “In the State Duma, such formats have been created with our colleagues from China, France, Kazakhstan, Italy, Iran. As for our colleagues from the Republic of Uzbekistan, this is the first step. We signed a framework agreement, which allows us in the future to come to decisions of more specific formats. " “This Agreement allows us to further solve problems in a wide variety of formats,” he said.
On 16 September, the State Duma Chairman paid an official visit to Uzbekistan. This is the first visit of the Chairman of the State Duma to this country since 2006. During the visit, Vyacheslav Volodin will meet with the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Also, negotiations are held between the Chairman of the State Duma and the heads of both chambers of the Parliament of the Republic.
