Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Starting from 15 September 2018, the Government of Uzbekistan will stop regulation of prices for the bread.

The Government issued a resolution “On measures to reliably provide the population and economy with grain, flour and bread on the basis of competition and the introduction of market mechanisms”.

According to the document, starting from 15 September, loaves will be sold at free market prices.

Also from 15 September, the wholesale-selling price of 1 kg of wheat flour of the first grade is temporarily set at 1,400 soums.

From 1 October, the government has introduced monthly payments for social groups in need of social protection to cover additional expenses for the purchase of flour and bread in the amount of 10% of the minimum wage (18,400 soums).
