Tashkent Roads Recorded 1.47 Million Vehicles on September 5

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A total of 1,469,948 vehicles traveled on Tashkent’s roads on 5 September, 32,109 fewer than the previous day, when 1,502,057 vehicles were recorded, according to the Tashkent City Center for Road Traffic Management.

On the same day, the capital’s buses operated 19,778 trips across 170 routes, carrying 1,098,438 passengers.

The Tashkent Metro served another 745,951 passengers over the 24-hour period.

The congestion level on the capital’s roads on 5 September ranged between 4 and 5 points. The traffic situation was partially affected by utility works being carried out at seven locations across the city.

Works were conducted on Bogishamol, Al-Khwarizmi, Shokiraryk, P. Makhmud and Samarkand Darvoza streets, in Westminster Lane, as well as at the intersection of Farkhod and Lutfi streets. Due to the works, the use of certain sections of the roadway and traffic flow were partially restricted.

Drivers were advised to take the roadworks into account when planning their trips and choose alternative routes if necessary.

At the same time, the Road Traffic Safety Service continued monitoring compliance with traffic rules. Violations recorded on 5 September included eight cases of vehicles driving on pedestrian paths, 18 parking violations and 17 violations of stopping rules.

In addition, four cases were recorded involving violations of rules governing the use of the “A” lane designated for public transport.

The monitoring measures are also aimed at ensuring priority for public transport, improving pedestrian safety and ensuring that road users comply with established rules.

Drivers were reminded not to leave vehicles on pedestrian crossings or immediately before them, to give way to pedestrians at designated crossings and not to occupy bus stop areas. Motorists should also comply with requirements when using designated “A” lanes and avoid obstructing buses when they approach or leave stops.

The traffic situation in the capital is monitored in real time at the Situation Center. The monitoring system makes it possible to track changes in traffic volumes and promptly monitor traffic conditions on the city’s streets.
