Tashkent police opens criminal case on beating of Jasurbek Ibragimov

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) -- Main Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent city opened criminal proceedings on grave body injuries to Jasurbek Ibrahimov on 3 May.

Student of Borovskiy Medical College Jasurbek Ibragimov was beaten by fellow students on 3 May. On the same day, he was hospitalized. He underwent five surgeries. On 1 June, Jasurbek Ibrahimov died.

According to Tashkent city police, the criminal case was initiated on the basis of clause “d” of part 3 of Article 104 of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (intentional grave bode injury, which resulted in the death of the victim).

Main Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent city noted that a preliminary investigation is being conducted against Islombek Tulaganov (born in 1999). Investigators are also verifying involvement of other young people in the crime.
