Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, has called for increasing the number of green spaces in Tashkent.

She noted that in a hot climate, trees, bodies of water and shaded areas have a direct impact on residents’ quality of life.

Mirziyoyeva inspected the site of a future park in Tashkent’s Shaykhantahur district. The area is planned to include a lake and green zones, as well as spaces for walking, sports, family recreation and activities with children.

According to Mirziyoyeva, similar areas should be created in all districts of the capital. She also stressed the need to increase the number of parks, preserve existing greenery and establish new environmentally friendly areas.

The development of green infrastructure, she said, is one of the important areas of Tashkent’s development.
