Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) —Representatives of Dutch football club Ajax discussed further development of cooperation with Navbahor with Namangan Region Hokim Shavkatjon Abdurazzakov, the information service of the Namangan Region Hokimiyat said.
The meeting was attended by Ajax Director of Football Cooperation Corné Groenendijk, Director of People and Culture Sebastian de Bruin and other club representatives.
The cooperation between Navbahor and Ajax is designed for three years and envisages developing the Namangan club’s football academy based on the Dutch team’s experience and methodology. As part of the agreement, the Ajax football academy has already started operating in Namangan, while specialists from the Netherlands have begun working with young footballers.
The sides discussed the current state of cooperation and opportunities for its further expansion. Particular attention was paid to the practical results of joint work and the creation of a unified player development system, from the early identification and selection of talented children to their gradual preparation for professional football.
The meeting also covered experience-sharing between coaches and the development of a strong football reserve for Navbahor.
Ajax representatives shared their initial impressions of Namangan, noting the hospitality of local residents and their interest in football. The sides emphasized opportunities for further development of cooperation.
The meeting also included proposals to expand ties between Namangan Region and the Netherlands beyond football.
In particular, the sides considered sports and cultural exchanges, as well as opportunities for cooperation במסגרת the International Flower Festival in Namangan.
The meeting concluded with Ajax representatives receiving shirts bearing their names and commemorative gifts.
