Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — More than 24,000 people took part in the Tashkent International Half Marathon, with professional athletes and amateur runners competing in 5 km and 21.097 km races.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the country’s leadership. The event highlighted the continued development of mass sports in Uzbekistan and the role of major sporting events in promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.

Winners and medalists were determined in both distances.

In the men’s 5 km race, Eldor Botirov took first place. Ruslan Khadzhiev finished second, while Behruz Shavkatov took third.

In the women’s 5 km race, Alina Khakimova won first place. Maftuna Akhmedova finished second and Kamola Ablaeva placed third.

In the men’s 21.097 km half marathon, Andrey Petrov was the first to cross the finish line. Hasan Mirsoatov took the silver medal, while Bakhtiyor Utkirоv won bronze.

Among women, Marjona Ahmadalieva won the half marathon. Sadafbonu Nusratulloyeva finished second, while Arofatkhon Imomaliyeva took third place.
