Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan's top-ranked tennis player Kamilla Rakhimova has concluded her singles campaign at the 2026 Wimbledon Grand Slam tournament following a narrow defeat in the second round.
On the grass courts of London, the Uzbek player faced world-class competitor Maria Sakkari of Greece in a tense, three-set battle.
Rakhimova dropped the opening set 3–6 but mounted an emphatic comeback in the second frame, securing a flawless 6–0 bagel without dropping a single game to her opponent.
The winner was ultimately decided in a grueling third-set match tiebreak. Sakkari claimed the final set 7–6, edgeing out the tiebreak 10–7 to advance to the next round of the tournament, ending Rakhimova's competitive run in the singles main draw.
