Japanese Rehabilitation Center Kitahara Group to Open in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The First Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Otabek Imamov, held official negotiations with a delegation from the Japanese medical company Kitahara Group, led by its chairman, Shigemi Kitahara.

During the meeting, the parties highly appreciated the level of current interaction between Uzbekistan and Japan in the field of medicine, noting that these consultations open up new opportunities for deepening partnership, mutual exchange of experience, and the implementation of long-term joint initiatives.

The Uzbek side showed particular interest in the unique experience of the Kitahara Group in building a closed-cycle medical care system. This model encompasses prevention, diagnostics, high-tech treatment, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, and subsequent comprehensive rehabilitation both within Japan and at the international level.

For his part, Otabek Imamov emphasized that the systemic modernization of healthcare, ensuring broad access for citizens to advanced medical technologies, and comprehensive support for private investments in the sector remain vital priorities of Uzbekistan’s state policy.

In this context, the Ministry of Health of the republic fully supported the initiative of the Kitahara Group to establish a modern private multidisciplinary clinic in Tashkent, which will provide rehabilitation services based on an innovative Japanese concept. The project holds high practical value for introducing advanced protocols of neurorehabilitation, post-hospital care, and the recovery of patients who have suffered a stroke.

According to statistical data presented during the presentation, thanks to the use of Kitahara Group’s unique approaches in the field of early recovery, approximately 77 percent of stroke patients demonstrate a significant improvement in their clinical condition within the very first month of undergoing rehabilitation.

Profile specialists and meeting participants worked out a detailed step-by-step action plan and the practical measures required for the earliest possible launch of the investment project and the integration of Japanese experience into the healthcare system of Uzbekistan.
