Japan Deports Uzbekistan Citizen for Visa Violations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Immigration Services Agency of Japan has expelled a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan who was staying illegally on Japanese territory.

According to official information, the deported man initially arrived in the foreign state on legal grounds under a short-term visa. However, after the expiration of the permitted period of stay, the foreign national ignored the requirements of migration legislation, did not leave the country, and remained there on illegal status, after which he was detained by local law enforcement agencies.

Official agencies remind that the detection of facts of illegal stay in the country or the engagement in illegal labor activities entails the application of the most severe sanctions. Measures such as detention and arrest by the police, compulsory isolation placement in a specialized immigration center, followed by forced deportation to the homeland, are mandatorily applied to offenders.

At the same time, the Japanese side promptly transfers the personal data of all visa regime violators to the government of Uzbekistan, in connection with which corresponding legal response measures may be taken against the deported individuals after their return to their home country. Citizens are urged to be vigilant and are advised not to trust dubious promises of easy earnings abroad.

The relevant services draw special attention to common misconceptions among foreign migrants regarding the procedure for obtaining asylum. Within the legal framework, there is an erroneous opinion that submitting an official petition for refugee status recognition in Japan automatically guarantees the possibility of long-term legal residence or official employment. Filing such applications to bypass migration procedures and for commercial earnings is strictly prohibited.

In the event of a negative decision on the application, the applicant is immediately placed in a deportation center and expelled, while the use of knowingly false information or fraudulent schemes when processing documents for refugee status entails strict liability under current criminal and administrative legislation.
