Ferghana Region Expands Investment Cooperation with China
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation led by Deputy Hokim of Ferghana Region Nuriddin Mamadjonov visited the People’s Republic of China, where it held a series of meetings aimed at expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the regions.
During the visit, the parties discussed prospects for new investment projects, industrial cooperation, and the strengthening of foreign trade ties. Special attention was given to expanding engagement with Chinese business structures in priority sectors of the economy.
One of the key events was a roundtable held at the Xinjiang-Henan Chamber of Commerce with the participation of Chinese business representatives.
The Uzbek side presented the investment potential of Ferghana Region, highlighting its favorable business environment and strategic development priorities. Participants stressed the importance of implementing mutually beneficial projects based on the capabilities of both sides.
Following talks with Chen Huailiang, Chairman of the Henan Chamber of Commerce, the parties signed a memorandum of cooperation formalizing intentions to further develop the partnership.
At the international industrial e-commerce park “Shinjon Zhouhua,” the sides discussed expanding cooperation in foreign trade, as well as possible joint projects in automotive manufacturing, production of auto components, and technical services.
They also considered the establishment of an international industrial e-commerce park in Ferghana Region, which could mark a new stage in the development of the region’s digital economy.
A separate meeting was held with the leadership of the international construction company “Xia Jiang Zhong Ya Qu Yu Zong Bu,” where preliminary agreements were discussed regarding participation in projects for hospitals, social infrastructure, tourism facilities, toll roads, and modern residential complexes under the “New Uzbekistan” program.
At the conclusion of the visit, an agreement was reached on a return visit by the Chinese company delegation to Ferghana Region at the end of May.
It is expected that the delegation will study potential projects on site and define further stages of practical cooperation.
