Eco Police Detect Violations at Uzbek Gas Processing Plant
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Officers of the Eco Police under the State Environmental Control Inspectorate conducted an inspection of the Mubarek Gas Processing Plant and identified a number of violations of environmental legislation.
The inspection found that the enterprise had been illegally storing construction and other waste materials on its premises, causing negative environmental impacts. According to the findings, this created additional ecological pressure on the plant’s территории and surrounding areas.
The inspection also showed that dust particles generated from waste disposal contributed to atmospheric air pollution. In addition, the burning of waste produced emissions of sulfur, carbon and nitrogen oxides exceeding permissible standards.
Inspectors separately documented the discharge of wastewater generated during the gas purification process onto open land areas. The wastewater contained petroleum product residues, further worsening the environmental situation.
Following the inspection, the enterprise was ordered to pay compensation amounting to 10.834 billion soums. The collected case materials have been forwarded to judicial authorities for further consideration.
