Child Found Driving Truck in Navoi Region, Officials Punish Family

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — A video recording depicting a seven-year-old child driving a large cargo truck in the Navoi region has circulated widely on social networks, drawing significant public attention. Following the discovery of the publication, officers from the Road Safety Department immediately initiated an official investigation, which resulted in the responsible parties being brought to administrative liability and the vehicle being seized.

During the investigation, inspectors established that the incident took place in September 2025. The young boy was given the opportunity to operate the heavy machinery by his cousin, in gross violation of safety rules. The footage of the dangerous driving only entered the public domain in June 2026, serving as the basis for prompt intervention by law enforcement agencies. Following the verification measures, the truck was forcibly placed in a specialized impound lot.

Police officers drew up an administrative protocol against the mother of the minor for leaving the child unattended and for improper fulfillment of legal duties regarding his upbringing and education. In turn, the owner of the truck faced administrative punishment for the unlawful transfer of vehicle control to an individual known to lack a driver's license of the appropriate category.

Representatives of the regional Road Safety Department noted with regret that despite the regular implementation of large-scale preventive and educational work, dangerous instances of allowing children to drive cars are still being recorded in the country's regions. A strict preventive discussion was held with the parents of the minor, during which the risks and irreversible consequences of such irresponsible actions were explained in detail, and a specialized thematic video clip was demonstrated to them.
