Agrobank Buys 40.14 Billion Soums of Uzbek Mortgage Bonds

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The Toshkent Stock Exchange has hosted the second exchange transaction involving mortgage bonds issued by UMRC SPV LLC, an entity established under the Mortgage Refinancing Company of Uzbekistan JSC.

The transaction was executed under Presidential Decree No. UP-26 dated 21 February 2025, titled "On additional measures for the further development of the housing and mortgage market."

During the placement via a closed subscription, Agrobank JSCB acquired mortgage bonds worth 40.14 billion soums.

According to the report, the completed transaction confirms the consistent implementation of the phased placement mechanism for mortgage bonds provided for by the presidential decree.

The source stated that the phased placement of such securities aims to develop the mortgage-backed bond segment in the capital market, expand sources of long-term financing, and introduce modern financial mechanisms into the mortgage market.
