Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Yandex Uzbekistan has partnered with the Ministry of Transport and the Center for Digital Transport to launch Uzbekistan's first National Transport Hackathon.

During the three-day event, participants will develop digital services and artificial intelligence solutions for the transportation sector. The initiative aims to foster an artificial intelligence ecosystem in transport, accelerate digital transformation, and support young specialists.

Teams will present projects focused on improving public mobility across aviation, rail, and road transport, integrating AI into the ministry's information systems, and analyzing big data.

Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov stated during the opening ceremony that digitalizing transport remains a key reform priority, highlighting the role of youth skills and initiative in driving sector growth. He added that the ministry plans to make the National Transport Hackathon a regular event.

First Deputy Minister of Transport Mamanbiy Omarov reported that the ministry is currently executing more than 40 digital projects. About 5 million people use the ministry's information systems monthly, and all 22 public services have been digitized. Omarov noted that expanding AI integration is the next phase, with the hackathon designed to generate practical solutions.
