Venezuela Earthquake Death Toll Surpasses 3,300

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The death toll from the devastating earthquake that struck Venezuela on 24 June 2026 has risen to 3,342, TASS reported, citing data from the government.

Jorge Rodriguez, the President of the National Assembly of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, announced the updated figures on the social network X and published an official document in his Telegram channel.

According to the document, 3,342 people have died, 16,740 have been injured, and 6,462 have been rescued. While the number of survivors rescued alive has remained unchanged over the last two days, the death toll increased by 388.

Official data shows that 86,794 families have already received assistance, while 17,345 people remain homeless. The disaster damaged 856 buildings, of which 190 were completely destroyed. Following the two destructive earthquakes on 24 June 2026, the country has recorded 995 aftershocks.

A total of 4,088 foreign rescue workers, alongside 29,567 military personnel, emergency services staff, and other specialists, are participating in the disaster relief operations. Additionally, 27,482 volunteers have joined the efforts.

Authorities have set up 79 temporary camps to accommodate those left homeless. Rescue and relief teams have delivered 9,585 tonnes of food and 669,008 litres of drinking water to the affected areas.
