Uzbekneftegaz Dismisses Gissarneftegaz Management for Failures

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — The management of the joint venture Gissarneftegaz has been dismissed from their positions following a meeting chaired by Abdugani Sanginov, the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz. This was announced by the press service of Uzbekneftegaz.

A special working group established that out of 142 wells at the enterprise's eight fields, only 24 are functioning—meaning just 17% of the well stock is utilized. The remainder are idle, suspended, or on the verge of decommissioning. The natural gas production plan for 2025 was fulfilled by only 40.5%. Uzbekneftegaz assessed this as evidence of a lack of a systematic approach and qualifications in developing reserves.

Against this background, gross financial abuses were uncovered: the management staff assigned themselves inflated salaries and misappropriated additional funds through fictitious employees. Meanwhile, ordinary workers did not receive their wages for several months.

Specific tasks have been set for the new management: to clear wage debts in the shortest possible time, conduct an audit of the well stock, sell off surplus machinery and unused vehicles, and develop a plan for the financial recovery of the enterprise.
