Uzbekistan’s electricity generation rises 7.3% to 60.5 billion kWh

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan generated 60,528.7 million kWh of electricity in January-August 2026, an increase of 7.3% compared with the same period a year earlier, according to the National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan.

Large enterprises generated 40,357 million kWh, down 2% from 41,179.3 million kWh in January-August 2025. In the same period of 2024, their electricity generation amounted to 48,711.6 million kWh.

Small businesses whose main activity is electricity generation increased their output by 32.4%, from 15,233.3 million kWh in January-August 2025 to 20,171.7 million kWh in 2026. During the same period of 2024, they generated 5,943.3 million kWh.

Heat production by large enterprises declined by 19.1%, from 13,474.7 thousand Gcal in January-August 2025 to 10,902.9 thousand Gcal in 2026. In January-August 2024, heat production amounted to 15,252.7 thousand Gcal.
