Uzbekistan to Reimburse 50% of Hotel Green Certificate Costs
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The government of Uzbekistan has approved financial support measures for the domestic hotel business transitioning toward environmentally sustainable development.
According to Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 312 dated 13 June 2026, "On measures to support the introduction of internationally recognized 'green' certificates in the hotel industry," hoteliers will be able to recover half the cost of certification expenses.
The adopted document officially approves the Administrative Regulations for providing this public service. The regulatory legal act regulates the basic requirements for applicants, the package of required documents, and the step-by-step procedure for submitting and reviewing applications, as well as the direct transfer of budget funds to the accounts of commercial entities. The main goal of the innovation is to stimulate the introduction of recognized international eco-standards and comprehensively support sustainable tourism in the republic.
The legislation establishes strict selection criteria for applicants seeking the state subsidy. Only hotels that have no current tax arrears can qualify for the 50% expense reimbursement. Furthermore, the enterprise must not be undergoing reorganization, bankruptcy, or liquidation, its operations must not be officially suspended, and there must be no active court ruling declaring the legal entity insolvent.
To initiate the reimbursement procedure, hotel industry representatives must apply to any convenient Public Services Center or submit an electronic application through the Single Portal of Interactive Public Services. A digital package of documents must be attached to the completed application: an official copy of the obtained international green certificate, a copy of the agreement with the certifying body for its issuance, and a payment order verifying full payment of the incurred expenses.
The Tourism Committee is responsible for reviewing the documents, and its experts must issue a decision within 10 working days from the date the application is registered. If a positive conclusion is issued, the approved reimbursement amount is automatically transferred to the applicant's settlement account within the following 10 working days.
