Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Around 200 entrepreneurs and manufacturers from Uzbekistan are taking part in the fifth Imam Abu Hanifa National and International Exhibition and Trade Fair, which opened in Kabul on 7 October. The event is organised by the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment.
The Uzbek delegation is led by Sherzod Ibragimov, deputy chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and Muzaffarkhon Musaev, chairman of the Small Business Association.
Uzbek participants are showcasing products from various industries at the national Made in Uzbekistan stand.
The exhibition features agricultural and food products, goods from the mining and metallurgical and electrical engineering sectors, construction materials, automotive products, medical equipment and medicines, textiles and finished garments.
Uzbek companies are also presenting tourism and educational services.
The programme includes business-to-business (B2B) meetings, a business forum and trade negotiations. Participants plan to discuss opportunities with Afghan entrepreneurs to develop business ties, launch cooperation projects and increase supplies of Uzbek products to the Afghan market.
Particular attention is being given to Uzbekistan’s automotive products. The exhibition features body parts, automotive glass, headlights, filters, fuel tanks, wheels, tyres, mufflers and other spare parts. Light electric vehicles are also on display.
According to the Uzbek side, the automotive products have attracted interest from Afghan entrepreneurs and potential buyers. Negotiations are addressing supplies to the Afghan market, as well as possible cooperation in dealership and distribution activities.
Participation in the exhibition is seen as an opportunity for Uzbek manufacturers to establish direct contacts with Afghan businesses, find new partners and expand their export opportunities.
The fifth Imam Abu Hanifa National and International Exhibition and Trade Fair will run in Kabul until 13 October.
