Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan’s men’s national chess team secured its ninth victory at the Chess Olympiad by defeating Armenia 3.5-0.5 in the 10th round of the tournament.
Nodirbek Abdusattorov defeated Haik Martirosyan, Javokhir Sindorov beat Robert Hovhannisyan, and Mukhiddin Madaminov defeated Gabriel Sargsyan. Nodirbek Yakubboev’s game against Shant Sargsyan ended in a draw.
The victory was Uzbekistan’s ninth at the tournament. The team earned another two match points and, with 16 points, continues to lead the standings.
Uzbekistan’s second and third teams also competed in the 10th round.
Uzbekistan-2 lost to India 0.5-3.5. Jakhongir Vakhidov lost to R. Praggnanandhaa, Abdisalim Abdimaliq drew with Arjun Erigaisi, Mukhammadzohid Suyarov lost to Nihal Sarin, and Ortik Nigmatov lost to Gukesh D.
Uzbekistan-3 lost to Israel 1.5-2.5. Saidakbar Saidaliev lost to Maxim Rodshtein, Bakhrom Bakhrillaev lost to Avital Boruchovsky, Almas Rakhmatullaev drew with Yachli Sokolovsky, and Mukhammadali Abdurakhmonov defeated Ilya Smirin.
