Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Uzbekistan and Pakistan are expanding cooperation in tourism following the launch of direct air services between Tashkent and Karachi. Representatives of the tourism industries of the two countries held a B2B meeting in Tashkent to discuss new routes and tourism products.
The event was held as part of a familiarization tour, or FAM Trip, organized by Centrum Air to mark the launch of the direct Tashkent–Karachi route.
The tour took place from 10 to 12 September 2026 and brought 10 representatives of Karachi’s tourism industry to Uzbekistan.
The delegation visited Tashkent and Samarkand, where its members explored historical and cultural attractions, the cities’ tourism potential and modern infrastructure.
The programme also included meetings with Uzbek tour operators. Participants discussed opportunities to develop and promote new tourism routes for travellers from Pakistan.
The B2B meeting featured Uzbekistan’s tourism potential and existing tourism products.
The parties discussed promoting historical and cultural routes covering Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and Tashkent, as well as Great Silk Road routes and the development of gastronomic, ecological and pilgrimage tourism.
